This term, our students have been enthusiastically participating in a wide range of after-school programs, giving them opportunities to develop new skills, stay active, and receive additional academic support.

For our Primary School students, the variety of activities has been inspiring:

  • Equestrian Program: Year 5 students have enjoyed horse riding lessons three times a week in our very own College arena.
  • Martial Arts (Taekwondo): Foundation to Year 2 students trained on Tuesdays, while Years 3 to 6 took part on Thursdays. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms Sufiya Wilson, Australian National Champion, for teaching our students, as well as her elder sister Ms Jannah and their mother Ms Mona for managing the program.
  • Aussie Basketball Hoop Time: Running each Thursday for all Primary students, this program has given children the chance to build teamwork and basketball skills in a fun, energetic environment.
  • Northern Goju Karate: On Fridays, students trained under the expert guidance of Kyoshi Adrian Delia (Rokudan, 6th Dan) from Northern Goju Karate.
  • Soccer and AFL: Regular sessions after school allowed students to develop their sporting abilities while staying active and engaged.

In addition to sports, our Secondary School students (Years 7–9) have benefitted from an after-school academic support program, providing a conducive environment for revision, extra help with schoolwork, and the opportunity to ask questions about topics they found challenging.

These programs continue to highlight our commitment to nurturing students’ physical, social, and academic growth beyond the classroom.

This term, our Primary School proudly concluded its Thursday Think Tank sessions, hosted by the dedicated Primary team. These gatherings provided a valuable platform for students to share their voices, think critically, and present thoughtful ideas on how to make our school an even better place for learning.

Each participant represented their class with dedication and creativity, raising standards and inspiring positive change across our school community.

As a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions, students were celebrated with snacks and small gifts as a heartfelt thank you for stepping up, showing initiative, and making a real difference.

This week saw the first two days of our exciting cultural exchange program with SMP Al Hikmah Surabaya, Indonesia. On Monday, 8 September, and Tuesday, 9 September, we welcomed groups of 25 students and 3 staff members who immersed themselves in our Year 8 LEAP program.

Our Indonesian student visitors teamed up with Year 8 LEAP students, following their daily timetable. Together, they explored fictional writing in English lessons, enjoyed outdoor sporting activities, and prayed side by side in our College Musallah.

These shared experiences allowed students to build meaningful friendships, exchange cultural insights, and strengthen bonds through learning and faith. We look forward to welcoming the next two visiting groups of 25 students and 3 staff members on next Monday and Tuesday to meet our Year 9 LEAP students.

This ongoing collaboration with SMP Al Hikmah Surabaya is a wonderful opportunity for both schools to connect and grow together, inShaAllah.

This term, our Year 6 students have been exploring Islamic art through two exciting projects: Artistic Prayer Mats and Moonlight Mosques.

In the Prayer Mat project, students designed their own mats by combining patterns, colours, and symbolic shapes. They learned about symmetry, balance, and the significance of geometric and floral motifs often found in Islamic art. Each mat reflected the individuality of the artist while staying connected to tradition.

The Moonlight Mosque Painting project encouraged students to experiment with contrast and atmosphere. Using deep blues, greys, and shimmering highlights, they captured the peaceful beauty of mosques under a glowing moonlit sky. Through this, students developed skills in shading, blending, and creating mood in their artwork.

Both projects not only enriched their artistic skills but also deepened their appreciation for cultural heritage and creativity. We are proud of the thoughtful effort and imagination Year 6 displayed in bringing these artworks to life.
