Focus of the Week: Punctuality is Key to Success!

We would like to take a moment to remind families of the procedures in place for when students arrive late to school, and to highlight why punctuality matters.

Late Arrival Procedure:

  • Primary Students: Any primary student who arrives after the school day has commenced must be signed in at the Main Office, preferably by a parent, carer, or guardian, and provide a reason for their lateness.
  • Secondary Students: Secondary students arriving late must sign in using one of the designated iPads located around the secondary school: TEAMS building near Mr Vis’s office, and SSD offices in C block and K block.

These procedures help us ensure accurate attendance records and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students during the school day.

Why Punctuality Matters
Arriving on time sets students up for a successful day. It allows them to:
✔ Start the day calmly and prepared
✔ Participate fully in morning routines and learning activities
✔ Build responsibility and good habits
✔ Minimise disruption to classmates and teachers

When students arrive on time, it contributes to a positive and focused learning environment for all. It also sends a strong message about the value of education and mutual respect within our school community.

We appreciate your ongoing support in helping your child arrive on time each day. By making punctuality a priority, families help create a calm and positive learning environment for all students.

Important Note: If a student arrives late and is not signed in, an SMS notification will be sent to parents advising that their child is absent or late. In this case, parents are required to contact the school with a reason for the late arrival or absence. This system ensures that we are able to account for all students and respond quickly to any potential concerns.
